The defending champion Detroit Shock unplugged the Sky's 2009 season and playoff hopes to boot after coming back from a 19 point halftime setback in the third quarter and coasting to a 80-69 win on Saturday, September 12 which left the Sky shattered and searching for answers.

The Chicago Sky head into the final week of the WNBA season with their playoff destiny in their own hands after a big 92-86 win over the Washington Mystics despite a career high bustout of 32 points from Mystics guard Matee Ajavon. However the Sky bench countered that outburst with 48 points of their own.

With only two games remaining the Sky hold the fourth and final playoff ticket in the Eastern Conference. Interviews are with Coach Steven Key, Dominique Canty, & Sylvia Fowles.

The Sky's playoff hopes grew a little dimmer after a tough 76-67 loss to the defending champion Detroit Shock on Saturday, August 22. With just six games remaining Chicago & the Washington Mystics are a half-game behind the Shock for the last playoff spot in the East.

The Chicago Sky continues their push for the playoffs with an 84-72 victory over the Connecticut Sun for the second time in the Chi this season on Saturday, August 1. The highlight of the game was a 26-0 run by the Sky in the latter stages of the second quarter.

Candace Parker's second trip home as a pro was spoiled by the Sky as they defeat the Los Angeles Sparks 75-63 on Wednesday, July 29 before a near capacity crowd of 5,633 at UIC Pavilion. Parker, playing only her fifth game since giving birth to her daughter in early May just missed a double- double as she scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Interviews are with Shyra Ely, Parker's college teamate at Tennessee who scored a career high 16 points off the bench and Sylvia Fowles.

The Sky continues to enjoy home cookin' in 2009 as they beat the San Antonio Silver Stars 85-75 on Sunday, July 19. The Sky never trailed as they opened the game with a 16-0 run on the Western Conference champs, then held off a fierce comeback in the final minutes.

The Sky gave up no field goals in the first seven minutes of the game and held on in spite of Lauren Jackson's game high 22 points and a furious comeback which gave Seattle the lead with 6:51 remaining.
